Dental Crown Treatment
When a tooth is compromised by decay, infection, or trauma, a crown rebuilds it to its optimal shape and function. Crowns come in a variety of materials including all-porcelain and gold varieties. The one that will work best for your situation depends on your goals and the health of your bite.
Unlike a dental filling, a dental crown completely covers the remaining tooth structure and adds strength to the tooth by taking on the load of chewing.
If we determine that a crown is the best solution for you, Dr. Young will start by preparing the tooth, which means reshaping the structure to make space for the dental crown and remove any damage or decay.
An impression will provide our dental lab with the proper size and shape for your dental crown. Until your final dental crown is complete, Dr. Young will protect the tooth with a temporary crown.
Once your new crown arrives, he will bond it permanently to your tooth and make any final adjustments for a comfortable fit. You will be able to smile confidently again!
Dental Bridges Close the Gap
A space left by a missing tooth is unsightly, but the repercussions go beyond just appearances. A gap in the smile leaves space for the remaining teeth to shift, causing problems with the bite and alignment.
A dental bridge protects the bite by replacing the missing tooth with a natural-looking artificial tooth held in place by two crowns on healthy, adjacent teeth. Dr. Young will match your dental bridge seamlessly with your smile.
We're also pleased to offer our patients stunning transformations with porcelain veneers. A veneer is a tooth-shaped slice of porcelain that covers the front surface of your teeth. Since veneers conceal your tooth, there are numerous ways we can use them.
Are your teeth unevenly spaced? Do you have a slight tooth misalignment that mars your smile? Both of these problems as well as many others can be addressed with customized porcelain veneers. Porcelain closely mimics the appearance of dental enamel, so veneers blend in beautifully with the rest of your smile.
