At times like these, you have only one goal, and that is to find relief as quickly as possible.
Your Winter Springs Emergency Dentist
Dental emergencies can be stressful, not just because of your discomfort, but because you don't want to settle for a dentist you don’t know or trust. If there was ever a time when you needed to see familiar, friendly faces, this is it!
Many of us have been there before, and we understand that you may feel helpless and alone. That is why we make it a point to put your needs first and make your emergency a priority.
We understand that by definition dental emergencies are unexpected, so we always allow extra time in our daily schedule to accommodate our emergency patients.
Unfortunately, most emergencies seem to occur on weekends or after hours, and this can be frustrating. At Advanced Dental Care, we want you to have peace of mind knowing that we are here for you whenever you need us. After hours, just call our main number for instructions on how to reach us. Dr. Young will return your call right away. He will listen to your concerns and give you instructions for handling the emergency until we can see you at our office when we open.
Steps You Can Take
Please note that if your emergency involves trauma to your face, neck, or head or you experience excessive bleeding or loss of consciousness, call 911 right away or have a friend take you to the emergency room.
The first thing to do if you have a dental emergency is to call Advanced Dental Care at (407) 696-6700. However, it’s a good idea for you to know the proper steps to take in specific situations:
- If a tooth is knocked out during sports or in an accident, you need to take immediate action to save it. Handle it by the crown, taking care not to disturb any tissue attached to the root. The tooth must be kept moist, so place it in a small container of milk, water, or saliva until you can see us.
- A toothache is always a sign of a problem, so prompt treatment is essential. To relieve your discomfort, try taking an over-the-counter pain reliever and holding a cold compress on and off your face for 20-minute intervals.
- If you crack a tooth, rinsing your mouth with warm water will help keep the area clean. A cold compress on your face should help reduce swelling.
- A lost crown or filling weakens your tooth, so it’s important for you to contact us right away even if you are not in pain. We can often reseat a lost crown, but a filling will need to be replaced.
